Recording a Voice Note

Capture what the doctor said - or how you're feeling - in your own words. Elly transcribes it and files it in your Vault.

Some of the most important health information never makes it onto paper: what the doctor said in the hallway, a symptom you noticed this morning, questions you want to remember for the next visit. Voice notes let you capture it the moment it happens. Just speak - Mediphant automatically transcribes your voice and extracts the health information inside.

Recording a voice note, step by step

  1. 1

    Open the recorder

From your Vault (or the Add button on Home), choose Record a voice note from the Add Files menu.

  2. 2

    Tap to record

Tap the big green microphone button - the screen says “Tap to record.” The first time, your device will ask for microphone permission; allow it so Mediphant can hear you.

  3. 3

    Just talk

While you speak, the button turns red, a live waveform dances along, and a timer counts up. Speak naturally - “Dr. Patel increased the lisinopril to 20 milligrams and wants labs before the next visit” works perfectly. You have up to 5 minutes per note. Tap the red stop button when you're done.

  4. 4

    Listen back

You'll see “Recording ready.” Tap play to hear it. Not happy? Tap Re-record and try again. When it sounds right, tap Use recording.

  5. 5

    Upload it

Your note lands on the Review Files screen, where you can give it a clearer name - “Cardiology follow-up notes” beats a timestamp. Tap Upload 1 item and Elly gets to work transcribing and reading it.

What happens to your recording

Within a few minutes, Elly transcribes the audio and pulls out the health details - medications, dosages, symptoms, follow-ups. Open the note in your Vault and switch to the View Text tab to read the transcript alongside the original audio. Anything meaningful also lands on your timeline.

After appointments

Record the plan in the parking lot, while every detail is still fresh.

Symptom journal

“Woke up dizzy again, third time this week” - small notes build a real picture over time.

For your family

Caregivers in your circle can hear it in your words, not a second-hand summary.

If recording won't start, check that your browser or phone has microphone access enabled for Mediphant - you'll see a message like “Microphone access denied. Please allow microphone access in your browser settings.”
